Ariza is Optimistic to Achieve COVID-19 Vaccination Target for 7.9 Million People

Jakarta Vice Governor, Ahmad Riza Patria (Ariza) is optimistic that COVID-19 vaccination's target for 7.9 million residents can be achieved. It is based on the ability to vaccinate reaches up to 19,741 doses a day.

"Second phase of vaccination is in the process, God willing. Jakarta has 508 health facilities and 1,648 vaccinators. Jakarta has capacity of 19,741 doses a day, and the second has reached 39.1 percent," he conveyed, Friday (2/12).

He hopes target of 7.9 million people can be actually achieved. He ensured that Jakarta's vaccination quota is increased.

"We have prepared health facilities and personnel, management and IT system," he added.

He asked residents to be patient in vaccination process. The priority is still for health workers. "Later, everyone will get their turn to be vaccinated for free," he stated.

He said there were no significant obstacles. The most important is the ongoing validation of data collection. Data synchronization with central government continues regarding those who should receive vaccines and vaccine delivery stages.

"Hopefully it will be better and faster, thus the result is in accordance with our expectation," he mentioned.

He expected the public to fully believe in vaccination stages that have been set. "It will be done in stages, including when President conveyed the priority to media colleagues at the end of this month and early March," he added.

His side also reminded people to continue implementing health protocols, at least 3M (wearing masks, washing hands with soap, and maintaining distance).
